I wouldnt be opposed to sound type, however I feel it missed its chance to jump on board. If they were going to add it, it should of been along with Fairy type.

Though I do worry about how they would balance it. I fear somehow Ice would be weak to it, despite the fact Ice needs anything but another weakness.

I think the fact that they started doing all these weird half Normals for sound-based mons and even light-based in the case of Heliolisk is good evidence that they WON'T add Sound or Light type, in order to maintain unique type combos.

Maybe they'll do it several gens from now when they need something new to grab people's attention and the aforementioned type combos aren't special anymore.

Hello my mom works at dreamworks and says they told her that they will release a new type each generation and half generation like this one obviously is. Here are all the types and the generations they go with.

>Laser Light - Gen 8

>Dairy - Gen 10.5

This will bring the total up to 20 types in honor of the 20th reunion of pokemon this year.

Trolling aside, I'd like a Sound type. More love for my bro Exploud. The fact that a specific ability exists making pokemon immune to it interests me. Waiting on Amplify being an ability/move that increases sound based damaging moves, or something like Bassline that increases their accuracy, on Sing, etc.

Bug Buzz, Disarming Voice, and Snarl can also be retyped as sound moves that are commonly learned by Bug, Fairy, and Dark types; similar to how Ice Beam is an Ice-type move commonly learned by Water types.

Additionally, change Soundproof to make the user immune to all Sound-type moves, similar to how Levitate makes the user immune to (almost) all Ground-type moves.

Sound type is:

>SE against Steel, Water, Ground (sound travels well through these) Fairy, Ghosts (myths where fairy and ghost-like creatures are scared off by sounds)
>Resisted by Bug (many invertabrates can't hear), Ice, Flying (sound does not travel well through ice or the air)
>No effect against Grass (plants have no ears)
>Resists Fighting, Normal (punching a sound wave?) Sound
>Weak to Flying, (wind currents disrupt sound travel) Electric (light is faster than sound, hence lightning is seen before thunder is heard), Grass (mostly just for balance reasons)
