Actually, now that I think about it, having 3D environments would make the battles unable to work as they did before. Not unless they ignore that for battles and use an overhead perspective for it. They would still have to make the models unbearably small.

What slutty wear.

The only thing that really irks me about the 3rd game is that the 6 key pokemon to S rank are almost all really far from the closest save point to them. There's like only one of them that's close to one. In 2, if there was a pokemon you'll never get a second chance to S rank, or it would be too hard to do it in the capture challenge, they would be close to a save. There was only one exception. You have to go through a tremendous hassle if you fail to S rank the key pokes of 3. Thankfully, of those 6 pokes, one of them is not necessary. I find it's easier to do the first past mission and S rank Skuntank when you have charge. The other 5, however, if you don't want to do the past missions, you will have to S rank their original encounters. It can be done, but it might take a few restarts for the first two. The other three, I think you have charge for, so it's only a matter of using assists properly. It took me a while to do this the first time I did it.

That's why I didn't like the past missions. They clearly were not designed to be played single player, even though you can. It required inordinate amounts of grinding and fighting the RNG, it sucks. That's why I attempted to find a way to avoid it as much as possible. The first mission is easy enough for anyone to do, so I'm okay with only doing it for a poke I need to S rank. I struggled to see if it was even possible to S rank the original encounters, though.
