Mark of a low tier character. If you are making reads you can win with anybody, and it's not as though Machamp is disproportionately rewarded for them to make up for being giant and slow. Blaziken is faster, has better frames (both speed and safety), and still has 50% combos. If you're going to put all your eggs in the get in+push buttons basket you need to actually be mobile enough to get in (weavile, blaziken) or have good enough projectiles of your own to stop them spamming theirs (mewtwo). Machamp's matchup sheet is probably the literal worst (possibly excepting lucario).

Bit of yes and no. Obviously many NFEs and other species are less mentioned here but among fully-evolved species, yes, it's at the lower end of the spectrum.

Check the archive. As of prior to this post, the hit search for Machamp only has 14,665 results.

By comparison, a gen 2 fighting Pokemon Heracross has 23,220 hits.

Blaziken, a third gen fighting type frontrunner has 33,576 hits.

Lucario has 44,489 hits.

In favorite threads, bro threads, fave per type and especially in fave per type per gen, it is one of the least visible choices and this is fact for most of the threads for at least the past 3 years.

Our drawthread booru shows more requests filled for Hawlucha and Pangoro, two Gen 6 representatives. Lucario has 80+, and Blaziken has 33. This means Machamp's genwun status does not play much into his favor here in /vp/.

Very few fighting type threads I've started have reached more than a hundred replies, and even then, those aren't solely about Machamp.

So for someone to actually get their panties in a bunch at a C-list popular Pokemon, it really doesn't take much to trigger them. Why they act as if they are still on a high ground about this and act as if somehow we are matching the other infamous pokefag groups that have their daily generals is beyond me
