I keep trying to go back, but all the little improvements TPDP has over actual Pokemon make it really goddamn hard to go back to the latter.

Do you know how hard it is to go back to SRing for legendaries or breeding after you've had the instant gratification of reincarnation? Do you know what it's like to have to look up egg moves and move tutor compatiability (or god forbid, event moves) rather than just having the entire moveset being TM or level based and being able to change it whenever you want with basically no cost? Do you know how annoying leveling up and EV-training are in Pokemon compared to TPDP?

Seriously, in the time it took me to EV-train a Slowbro that was ALREADY bred to be perfect and level it to 70 I could have reincarnated an entire team, power-leveled them all to 70, and put the EVs exactly where I wanted it.

Oh, and I think I can no longer stand running a team that does not include Raiko on it, and even playing a completely different game without her in it doesn't change that fact.

Well, the VGC top 10 are centralized so badly that no one could call them balanced, considering how the same Pokemon make up 2/3rds of every single team.

As for the types:
Dragon is too good offensively, while Bug is too weak offensively (Poison would have worked better in that regard pre-Gen 6 for the "too weak", but at least it's relevant now for killing Fairy types).

Steel is way too good defensively, while Ice is way too weak defensively. No, Steel being weak offensively and Ice being strong offensively do not remotely balance those out, especially since Steel isn't even that poor of an offensive type in Gen 6 anymore

There's a terrain effect that makes it so for the next 5 turns all healing turns into damage, not to mention a Warp type move that ignores the type chart completely and gets stronger if the opponent used a status move, and one of the status effects (Weakness) prevents healing while it's on a puppet. Then there's the fact most walls are lower quality and have fewer resists than those in Pokemon, and obviously Steel not having 10 resists + 1 immunity by itself is big.

Post expansion it definitely is, and even pre-expansion it's fun running around doing the trainer rematches and E3 fights.

I should mention I thought I found a way to be able to play Pokemon without being tempted to go back to TPDP myself; simply just play both and switch between the two every five minutes (unless I was in the middle of something too important to switch right away). That way I could keep doing stuff like breeding without getting too sick of it immediately, while still being able to beat things up with Raiko and level up more puppets.

I have been playing TPDP for the last two hours straight, because while in Pokemon I was doing all the tedious stuff like breeding and EV training, in TPDP I was just having the puppets fight other puppets.

Not to mention how the E4 rematch in ORAS is a joke when throwing level 100s at it, while the E3 rematch in TPDP is still difficult due to the much higher levels and not just being focused on one type.

I think the most resistances in the game possible on account of pure typing is Light/Nature, with 8 (Defense Ringo, Extra Toyohime, and Extra Yuuka have that type combo). However, it also has 5 weaknesses and none of those puppets get abilities to negate any of those weaknesses.

Best Resist to Weakness ratio would be Extra Doremy, because she's mono-Dream type (i.e. no weaknesses or resistances) but both of her unique abilities give her 3 specific resistances. 3/0 is a divide by zero error, but 0 weaknesses is really nice to have. Power Iku is arguably better off (2 resistances and 1 immunity with Earth Cushion while having no weaknesses and not being laden with pure-Dream type), but that's still not perfect since SanaeS can hit her for SE anyways with Earth thanks to Common Senseless.

Most puppets even with abilities top out at most with 7 total resistances + immunities (after factoring in abilities), and those usually still have 3 weaknesses or more even with abilities. Extra Hina is so popular because she only has 2 weaknesses and 6 resistances + 1 immunity, and her Water weakness is somewhat undermined by water being weak to Poison regardless.

It is worth pointing out how the single best possible type combination in TPDP for resistances has fewer resistances, more weaknesses, and no immunity compared to Pokemon's Steel type by itself. (10 resists + 1 immunity and 3 weaknesses). You can't wall over half the typechart in attacks with a single puppet like you can in Pokemon, and that's a big thing to take into account for teambuilding.

Welp, I was wrong. Light/Poison is the best one as you mentioned in terms of resistances. This is what I get for not sleeping at night.

One other thing I've noticed is that you can't really ignore certain types like you can in Pokemon. Yes, Pokemon has good ice types, but you probably have a counter to them built into your team already just on virtue of their weaknesses being so common. Similarly, good Bug types exist, but there are so many things that resist Bug that you have to try to have a team without multiple Bug resists. The drastically better type balance of TPDP means that covering a given type is more difficult in general and also more important; even Light only has four types resistant to it (contrast Grass being resisted by 6 and Bug being resisted by 7 in Pokemon) and is SE against two others, and that's pretty much the worst attack type in the game (and with stuff like JunkoS existing, having a Light resist is important).

Excuse me while I try to get some sleep so I don't make such big mistakes again anytime soon.

Weather abusers are much less common (there is one that gets 2xATK, SPATK, DEF, and SPDEF under any weather, but her actual base stats are incredibly low and her movepool is anemic), the weathers in general are much weaker, Aurora and Fog don't boost Fire and Water (they boost Light and Dark instead respectively), puppets with weather inducing abilities are generally much weaker than those in Pokemon and are running on Gen 6 mechanics rather than Gen 5, and the one puppet to get Gen-5 style permaweather has a BST of 375 and has to use a move to set it up, meaning you can just taunt or murder it immediately to stop the weather from going up, so it manages to make Ninetales look like Groudon in comparison by weather inducer standards.

Also there's a BP60 move that when used ends the current weather if there is any and if it did so doubles in power, just in case you really hate weather.

But on the other hand, the permaweather inducer is maximum cute so you should do it anyways.

That's true, ASeki is almost as good as Ninetales but people never say so. She certainly can set up two guarranteed times a battle which tends to be enough for your needs.
I personally use DMeiling in a sandstorm team, she quite good physically actually and you have two options who double speed in storm and have 120 FoAtt+, while Nazrin can get an attack buff at 115 speed.

All in all, both are more interesting than running Renko. I don't think she is the easiest but she is not the hardest either, she has some tricky spells and the mid boss is annoying from what I remember. The EX that I had less problems probably was Mokou, even though she has some insane spells you get many lives and the stage portion is by far the easiest of them all.
