Why not? Just write some dumb lore about how Synergy is now allowing temporary evolutions other than just Mega.

I more meant to base the Pokemon moves off of. Like Gengar's moves are mostly Ghost with a few Poison (I'm pretty sure M-Gengar's counter Attack is supposed to be Poison Jab)

Or just make his niche that he gets a huge burst in power initially after evolving but still retains the evolution. Would be interesting cause you'd have to learn two characters if you ever wanted to use his synergy.
