>fairy
I sure love salty dragonfags
Am I the only one that thought fairies made sense as a type?
Fairy is objectively the best type in the game, defensively and offensively. Also, fairy type pokémon have great designs which is a plus.
Haven't played pokémon for a couple of years and when I came back I was happy to see they made a hard counter for dragons.
Stupid bastads were overpower when I was kid and ice types weren't that great.
>>25747315
>great designs
no fuck you, and fighting is till the best type in the game and nothing will ever change that
>frogposter
>>25747234
It does make sense, but they weren't really consistent about is a Fairy and what isn't.
>>25747192
Same here.
The biggest reason why I like fairy types is that edgyboys and edgygirls are so fucking butthurt about their favourite dragons and dark types being BTFO'd. It's fucking delicious.
Only bad thing is that my bro Scrafty gets fucked in one shot. :(
>>25747175
t. garchomp fag
>>25747192
the only thing i dont like about fairy is how it resists bug and that it removes spiritomb's only gimmick which is being weak to nothing
>>25747175
>>25749603
Yah same, I don't like that either. Sableye/Spiritomb should have remained "untouchable".
I think Fighting type is already a pretty good weakness for dark, Fairy destroying them is kinda of unecessary.
>>25749653
Part of me wants to say they did that on purpose so that Mega Sableye doesn't shit everything up even harder, but it's hard to imagine them actually knowing ahead of time what kind of monster they were making.
Spiritomb still only has one regular ability, I suppose they could cram a fairy resistance/immunity in there since Pressure is generic as fuck.
Convince me fairy did more good than harm balance wise.
>>25750184
See
>>25749603
It also nerfed dragon and gave poison and steel more prevalence in the metagame.
>>25750231
>implying nerfing dragon is bad
>implying making poison better is bad
>>25750298
Honestly fairy would have made great strides towards balancing the meta if megas hadn't walked in shortly afterwards with their absurd stats.
>>25747192
>Iron tail
Feels good crushing your faggotmons into pulp.
>>25748642
>triggered by a drawing of a frog
>>25747175
I don't mind fairy.
It just needs a few more cool looking ones.
Most looks dumb.
>>25750298
>Implying dragons were nerfed.
Faggots believe this.
>frogposters
>>25750785
If types were all equal Dragons would be balanced and Fairies would be OP. It's just that dragons tend to be 600+ BSTs with good movepools.
>>25747338
Same.
Best part is that dragonfags are huge fucking faggots most of the time.
>>25750457
>Accuracy - 75%
>>25747175
Don't worry OP I've found the solution
I find it hilarious that us dragonfags are considered edgy when most fairy fanart depicts them brutalizing even adorable dragons like Dragonite
Meme magic is one hell of a drug.
>>25750231
Steel was already the best type and now poison is in direct competition with said best type. They could have gave the fightning nerf to poison instead but non if the do so fightning would be approaching grass and ice defensively. Dragon itself is not strong it's just a lot of them have good movepools and base stats; Newsflash there are pokemon with high stats and diverse movepools that aren't Dragon.
>>25747192
>>25749459
>liking a type for trivial reasons like "Someone's favorite Pokemon got BTFO XDDD"
Wow, guess this place really is underage.
>>25747175
it was a good type to introduce
Dragons needed something to fear more than themselves.
Besides, there's nothing "normal" about Jigglypuff or Clefairy... or any other pink moe-blob for that matter.
>>25747315
>best type offensively
I wouldn't go that far, many fairy type Pokemon only learn 2 true "fairy type" attacks. (which is a good thing IMO, it fits the flavor for its movepool to be simple)
Just look at Dedenne, the only fairy type move it learns is Play Rough. The other is Charm which is hardly an attack at all.
>>25753681
thunder rats aren't real pokemon. they're just wink-nudge mascots
>>25750441
Megas aren't as OP as they seem, at least you know what you're dealing with when someone pops a Mega.
>Ability is announced
>It's the only mega they can use during the battle
>zero possibility of them pulling some unforeseen left-field shenanigans, like you can with items
Held items are way more of a threat...
>normally can't see them until they're popped
>many items have passive effects that need to be deduced mid-battle
>can drastically interact with combos/attacks in unforeseen ways
>hundreds of combos and possibilities from different items
Mega Stones were an effort to incentivize players to ease away from held-item based combat.
It also forces players to "commit" to a single Pokemon who's essentially the quarterback of the team.
That being said, my players still don't use any Megas because they'd rather specialize with traditional item strategies.
>>25753701
The thunder rodents are the only Pokemon that can learn Nuzzle, AKA the best physical electric move in the game.
It's basically thunder wave with physical STAB capabilities. A better thunder wave.
>>25753759
True but gamefreak overcompensate for the lack of a held item a little too much when making some megas, i.e mom, shillcario, moon dragon
They underestimate how powerful items, i think megas COULD have been a good thing, but they ended up being pretty bad
>>25753782
*overestimate how powerful items are
>>25753779
Seriously, imagine a technician or adaptability pika clone with decent stats and nuzzle.
Would be stupidly good.
Thank good a pikaclone with good stats will never happen
>>25753759
Megas also created a fun casual/semicasual team strategy in Guess the Mega
>>25753787
I think Focus Sash is better than a Mega stone, whether Smogon wants to admit it or not.
It all but guarantees a whole turn for any mon, it's like insurance for set-up dependent teams.
>>25748642
>2010+6
>not realizing the power of KEK
>>25753662
>Dragons needed something to fear more than themselves.
All they had to do was give more pokemon dragon and ice type moves to compete.
>>25747234
Why will it be dragonkillers?
>>25754105
because memes
>>25754084
They still needed STAB and defensive checks against Dragons.
>>25754105
Thematically it works, all the "trying to be tough" mons fold to fairies. It makes the showy masculine types insecure.
Meanwhile the real threats of warfare and destruction (fire, poison, steel) cuts them down.
>>25754165
>steel
>fire
Makes no sense anon
>>25747175
>frogposters
just as bad as the fairy apologists
>>25753381
Newsflash: those types are not primarily made up of pokemon with legendary tier stats
>unironically liking "things we can market to little girls": the type
can't wait for the "things we can market to tumblr" type! : )
>>25754220
Because Mr. Mime is totally marketable to little girls.
>>25754172
guns, swords, bullets = fire and steel
biological weapons and gas = poison
It's war, real things that cause death.
Whereas Dark, Fighting, and Dragon are like highschool kids that just want to "appear" tough and edgy. They have spikey hair, watch MMA and wear Affliction T-shirts... But the second you make them feel effeminate and embarrass them publicly they lose their steam.
>Bully grabs you by the shirt and gets in your face
>Say "...Are you trying to kiss me?"
>Everyone laughs and he recoils, humiliated.
That's how I see it.
>>25754196
But the point is high stats would exist regardless of dragon so punishing dragon for having lots of psuedos is ignoring the root of the problem. Also it is offset by the lack super effective stab moves.
>>25754235
I can not see Flygon as a school bully
Likewise, I cannot see Granbull as anything but what you just described
>>25754266
DELETE THIS!!!
>>25754220
Anon, fairy IS marketed to Tumblr. Haven't you seen the comics?
>>25754235
Makes no sense. Fairy is not week to fire
>>25754235
fighting type is no war ?
>>25751507
Fuck yeah, metalheads once again trounce all.
>>25754288
Well no, you wouldn`t fight a war with kung fu, you would use guns and tanks
>>25754303
Magnemite is not a tank
>>25754279
Offensively they are.
>>25754235
Reminds me of my friend
He was once encountered by a guy who wanted to fight him (for highschool reasons)
My friend isn't a fighter by any means, he's skinny and had no muscle on him.
All the guys in the locker room circle around expecting a fight
My friend smirks and says "OK I'll fight you"
Then he pulls his pants and boxers off, shakes his dick around
Everyone screams, laughs, bully kid goes "WHAT THE FUCK DUDE" and leaves
Friend gets called into the principals office, makes case that he was in the locker room and getting naked was necessary because he was simply changing.
Other kid gets suspended.
>>25754235
>LOL tough guys hate girly stuff XD
Nice meme, friend. don't think that was Game Freak's reasoning at all. Because I don't see Mienshao, for example, being a bully in the slightest.
Those types being weak to Fairy because "lol magic" makes more sense than anything you just posted.
i like fairy because imo thematically they are a counterpart to ghost-types, the way psychic and dark are to each other. shame though most fairy designs are boring or underwhelming.
>>25753853
>all but guarantees
Unless there're entry hazards up or your opponent has a priority move. Don't get me wrong, sash is a great item, but it's far from always better than mega stones.
>>25754329
At least i hope its bait.
>>25754220
we got dark type since gen2.
>>25754303
CQC
know the term?
>>25754837
>>25754843
Well obviously they have combat training you dunce, but they don`t have armies of men just tossing cunts to the ground, its mostly fought with weapons.
>>25754947
cqc isn't done with ranged weapons or big melee ones. its done with knives or barehanded. so fighting is relevant to big military life.
>>25754266
>I can not see Flygon as a school bully
That's because your mind's stuck on the "NEVER EVER" meme
>Likewise, I cannot see Granbull as anything but what you just described
It's described as being very timid, despite its appearance.
>>25754220
Anon, there have been cute things that made no sense as other types since gen 1. Fairy type was necessary.
>>25750494
>person expresses any sort of distaste
>"TRIGGERED!!! KEK!!!"
>>25756917
>very timid, despite its appearance.
sounds like a bully to me
>>25747175
I like how it made Steel and Poison better offensively.
My favorite Pokemon is Hydreigon
And...I'm okay with Fairy type. Still miffed about the 4x weakness though.
Dragon was slightly overpowered and instead of softening them up, (by making them weak to electricity) they added a whole nother type that is twice as broken as them.
>>25757060
Bullies are insecure, not "timid and easily spooked". In fact, the more I read Granbull's entries, the less I think of it as a bully and more I think of it as the nerd.
>>25757149
ok, sure.
>>25757141
>fairy type
>broken
>>25754224
>"I sure showed him, mentioning one pokemon among 40 that doesn't fit what he said!"
>>25757176
>It is actually timid and easily spooked. If attacked, it flails about to fend off its attacker.
>>25757246
I wasn't being sarcastic.
>>25757207
Granbull looks intimidating, thus little girls would probably not like it. Mawile is in the same boat. Gardevoir appeals more to neckbeards. Aromatisse is too sassy. Klefki and Carbink are...well, their respective looks speaks for themselves.
>>25757180
It's amazing defensively and offensively
If it isn't broken it's probably objectively the best type in the game right now
>>25754165
>>25754235
u dum nigga
Fairies are like nature spirits so things that harm nature harm them too, thus posison and fire; cold steel has always been the thing used to contain or kill them in folklore, thus steel.
As for dark and fighting, fairies are often, again in folklore, tricksters. It's similar to the fighting/flying relationship of "have you tried punching a bird", fairies are difficult to pin down and nearly impossible to trick because autism/alien minds.
>but why dragons?
>"What fairy tales give the child is his first clear idea of the possible defeat of bogey. The baby has known the dragon intimately ever since he had an imagination. What the fairy tale provides for him is a St. George to kill the dragon." -G.K. Chesterton

Here's a video of how a salty slvyeon fag acts after their little shitmon losses against a dialga with flash cannon. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=hddCpJ8MfVo
Enjoy
>>25747192
Fuck you, Fairyfags. Dragons used to rule the meta.
>>25762009
Do you realize one is an average pokémon and the other is a legendary, right? There is no comparison.
>>25762055
>The "HERPDERP THIER NOT IN THE SAME CLASS XD XD" excuse.
>>25762041
Dragons still pretty much dominate. the only thing Fairies really put an end to is Outrage spam.
but all your typical dragons are still sitting at the top of competitive use, Garchomp, Lati@s, Kyurem-B, Dragonite, and the like.
the only one that truly fell from grace due to fairy is Hydreigon. That and Hoopa-U just came in and did his job 10 times better.
I just really like the pokemon who are fairies. The type is super imba and will never be nerfed because of how incompetent GF is at balance.
>>25762313
This is as much bait as the OP.
>>25762291
>implying you know what your talking about
