Why did almost every Pokemon in gen 6 have their own signature moves?
>>25743515
Probably to make up for their lack of Megas.
>>25743515
Because there were so few of them GAMEFREAK wanted us to be happy with what we got.
>>25743515
what is zygarde
>Hawlucha lost his Signature Move to Pikachu Libre
>Hawlucha lost his Pokken slot to Pikachu Libre
MAD
>>25743515
I think it was neat, more pokemon should have signature moves
>>25743515
All the Pokémon should have a signature move.
>>25743515
Because that's how it should be
Blaze Kick? Leaf Blade? Muddy Water? All three of those should have been the signatures for the gen 3 starters
Fire Blast? Solarbeam? Hydro Pump? Gen 1 signatures
Heat Crash? Leaf Tornado? Shell Blade? Gen 5 signatures
Flare Blitz? Wood Hammer? Aqua Jet? Gen 4 signatures
Mystical Fire? Water Shuriken? Spiky Shield? Gen 6 signatures
Gen 2 fags need not apply
>>25743583
this right here to be quite honesto familia
>>25743565
>>Hawlucha lost his Signature Move to Pikachu Libre
ORAS did this to a few Pokémon.
>>25743620
This dude speaks the true
>>25743620
>Blaze Kick? Leaf Blade? Muddy Water? All three of those should have been the signatures for the gen 3 starters
They were.
>all this other shit
Not every Pokemon needs a signature move, anon.
>>25743620
>water priority
>kept to only one pokemon
>grass physical for larger grass types
>kept to one pokemon
>fucking fire blast and hydro pump kept to one pokemon
>>25743620
>Fire Blast? Solarbeam? Hydro Pump? Gen 1 signatures
>>25743620
>>25743801
>>25743809
>>25743822
I'm pretty sure all these moves were originally made for these Pokemon. I mean when I hear Flare Blitz I automatically associate it with Infernape.
And really
>Aqua Jet
>Empoleon is a penguin
They all just "suffer" from what I now call Smeargle syndrome
Best signature move.

I liked it. I liked the new approach of "less is more". Not only were there half the usual amount of new Pokemon, but every single one of them had their own unique identity and move/ability. I know gen 6 wasn't amazing but its Pokemon pool definitely was. It felt less like they were filling the usual quotes of 100+ shitmons and instead opted for good designs people actually care about. One of Pokemon's major problems is that all the characters preach about how all Pokemon are equal, and then you go on to forget about 90% of them and train only a select few which are actually viable.
>>25743858
Even in gen 1 they were spread out
>>25743620
Meganium = Aromatheraphy
Thyplosion = Flame wheel
Feraligator = Aquatail/Crunch
>>25743873
>learned by 3 non-related Pokemon families
>signature
>>25743947
Mew cannot learn crabhammer. Therefor it is exclusive.
>>25743620
Moves shouldn't be exclusive to single lines of Pokémon, but only a small selection, as with Crabhammer and Hyper Fang. Also, signature moves shouldn't be shit, like Octazooka is.
>>25743954
Mew cannot also learn Tackle. A move learned by 200+ pokemon.
>>25743973
Yeah. But, hold on, can mew learn crab hammer?
>>25743620
>Blaze Kick? Leaf Blade? Muddy Water?
>Mystical Fire? Water Shuriken? Spiky Shield?

Embarassing
>>25743977
Better question is why Crustle can't learn Crab Hammer.
>>25743858
When i hear Surf i automatically associate it with Rhydon
They've been doing weird shit with signatures for ages.
Hell Marowak gets a signature move AND item
>>25743986
Shell Blade's animation literally has the Oshawott lines' scalchop
>>25743515
Less Pokemon = more attention put to individual lines. I liked it. The overall design quality was higher compared to the last 2-3 gens too, with less useless fillermons.
>>25743947
Signature just means they invented it, by this point. Like signature abilities too
Over time all signature moves will be accessible by other Pokémon.
>>25744006
because bugs are not crabs

Lobsters aren't crabs, you dumbass.

>Yfw luxray electivire and Elektross get bolt strike in Sun and Moon
>>25744040
Neither are shrimps and crayfishes, yet Clawitzer and Crawdaunt learn it. How do you explain this shit?
Plus Crustle is a hermit CRAB, not a fucking lobster you illiterate swine.

Neither is Crawdaunt

If you could give your favorite Pokemon a signature move (assuming it doesn't already have one), what would it be?
>>25744023
I would still like large groups of new Pokemon, especially when 6th Gen had a problem with trying to pander to Genwunners.
>>25744051
Corphish is tho
>>25744086
My favorite pokemon (Alakazam) has an absolutely useless signature move. I bet most people don't even know what Kadabra's/Alakazam's signature move is.
>>25744086

>>25743538

>>25744108

Wait, don't tell me, it's something to do with bending spoons.
>>25744108
>move that lowers accuracy by one stage
>doesn't even have 100% accuracy
At least they could make that it lowers accuracy by like 2 stages or something.
Technically isnt the only exclusive move is Hyper space fury
Because its the only move Smeargle can't learn
>>25744040
>implying owls are birds
>>25744154
Chatter.
>>25744086
Slowking would probably benefit from Luster Purge or Mist Ball more than the Latis do.
None of the others really fit it.

Orbital Strike - Flying type

Mew already gets something special, what with learning every tm/tutor but i still like the idea of a signature move, as for why making aura explode deals double damage to megas....i want them to be knocked down a peg, i can`t even justify this.
>>25744086
Lots of Pokedex entries mention Wooper coating its body in a poisonous slimy film, but besides Toxic, Wooper and Quagsire don't really have anything in their movesets pertaining to that.
>Slimy Skin
>Type: Poison
>Category: Status
>PP: 10
>The user coats its body in a poisonous film that protects it from enemy attacks, raising its defense and special defense by one stage each, and creating a 50% chance of physical attacks against the user to inflict poison on the attacker.
>>25743934
>Aquatail/Crunch
>>25745023
i likey but would it last until Wooper faints/is switched out or would it wear off like reflect/
>>25745229
I was thinking just have the poison effect last until switch out, as if it was a raised/lowered stat.
>>25744014
>Hell Marowak gets a signature move AND item
if it weren't for Lucario it'd have had 2, though it only has Bonemerang now
>>25744026
What bullshit headcanon is this?
>>25743538
He had three of them, Land's Wrath, Thousand Waves, and Thousand Arrows. Hell even the Eternal Floette has one through Light of Ruin.
This is one of the things that made me salty over Lucario being the new poster boy. Fucker not only has his own signature move but also learns Blaze kick and bone club.
>>25744086
Feraligatr- Dread Roll(Or something similar to Death Roll, but kid-friendly) Hits 2-3 times, with a chance of the target flinching(not for each hit, just each time it's used)
