But holy shit are the designs atrocious. The only thing worse than Sage's Fakemon are its human characters.

The development cycle is ridiculously slow, largely because they vote on every single aspect of the game. But for what purpose? The designs look like shit.

The game should have been done two years ago.

Instead they'll keep bickering over minutiae and re-re-release a demo up to the first gym.

I hate being negative because I know so much effort has gone into it.

I don't know about anything else you said, but I agree with this. Not a single one of the fucking mons looks good. I've tried to like them. I've looked over the entire dex, realized they were all boring, and forgotten about Sage. This has happened three or four times, all months apart.

I WISH they were shitty. At least Clover is shitty enough to be entertaining. Sage is just dull.

There are a decent number of designs I like, but a lot of the designs do look mediocre. And I don't think they're as good as a lot of people seem to hype them up to be.

I have problems building a team in this game because all the Pokemon I actually like are rock type

I don't get the h8 for the sage designs. I've never had this much difficulty in choosing team options until this dex. There is allot of creativity put into the designs like the Koblin lines(the designs actually resemble pocket MONSTERS) and the Growmeo and Tuliep lines(their evolutions look less appealing because the couples now hate each other like the Montagues and the Capulets). There are some misses(Bullotus is fucking hideous, Iove the name tho. And Craliber literally a detailed bullet) but a good majority of them seem like hits to me.
