Anther anon here but fyi, that clip actually originates from the Japan cut of the first Pokemon movie. At the end of the Mewtwo Strikes Back movie, it shows a scene of Ash's Pikachu with an other Misty and a child portrayed to be Misty's. It wasn't explicitly stated, but Pikachu being "cared for" by that kid of Misty's implied it was Ash's daughter as well.
tl;dr It was originally conceptualized that Ash and Misty are a couple and that's their child in the future. But of course, it's been forever reconned and forgotten in favor to continue the main anime series with Ash and co.
I don't really even care for Ash X Misty as I may have used to, I have a bit of a thing for May and Ash, but I'll always acknowledge that Misty and Ash was clearly intended at the time. Just a little info check there.

She had character, but I found her character shrill and annoying. Her goal and dream was a cop-out and there was little-to-no development aside from a few macro changes that took place over the course of three regions.

"I want to be a Water Pokemon Master!"
Except she is never shown to be doing anything more to advance her goal aside from the sparsely spread out captures of water type pokemon. She is never shown to hone her craft and any episodes surrounding her goal are specifically designed for her being a water type trainer.

You could argue that her biggest developments over the course of Kanto, the Orange Islands, and Johto was the caring for Togepi in a maternal role and her relationship with Psyduck.
That's it.
She was tsundere towards Ash but even then, the only thing showcased less than her developing character was the joke that people cling to that is her affection to Ash.

People glorify Misty because of nostalgia, because they have a boner for her, and because she was probably the only serious member of the main characters in Kanto, the Orange Islands, and Johto. That might be an achievement under normal and current standards, but considering that the first three seasons displayed Brock as a womanizer who was controlled by his dick, Team Rocket as bumbling buffoons, and Ash was the goofy protagonist who spent 75% of his time acting like an imbecile or child. It wasn't until the later parts of Johto that Ash started to turn into a serious trainer but no one remembers that because Johto overall was filler hell and almost as bad as BW as a series.


So when I say Misty was and is shit, I mean it because compared to the other female traveling companions that Ash has had, Misty wasted three regions worth of spotlight for character development and came out as a waifu that nostalgia-ridden individuals parade around because they associate tenure with quality and place that red-haired banshee up on a pedestal.

I'm only as wrong as what is really known about the backstory of the original intentions of the series. It's damn fucking clear the game/show wasn't planned to continue after Gen 1 mainly because it wasn't expected to be an phenomenon like it had became.
In short, Misty was "scrapped" in favor to promote the current gen's protagonists (May, Dawn, Iris, Serena, etc) and whatever was planned between Ash and co in Gen 1 / 2 (the cut out of the original Japanese Mewtwo movie) was forever forgotten.
I don't know everything, I'm not the damn creator himself, but don't just tell me I'm "wrong" when you don't know shit else more about what really happened.

4Kids actually dubbed that bit too, it was Warner Bros that cut it later. The uncut dub got released on the bilingual Japanese DVD release in 2000, over a year before 4Kids threw the cut material onto their Mewtwo Returns DVD.
