Picture this:

Every girl so far had at least one episode where they argue with Ash and get mad at each other, right? Let's assume this still exists in X/Y. Now it's a really funny thing that it hasn't happened yet after more than two years, bar Iris that happened during Da! only but she was a shit to Ash all the time so that counts more like the last they could take than something that started right there at that episode. You could argue "because she's in love", but incidentally Serena has the opportunity to join and be tutored by Yashio anytime, and that could have happened right in that episode if it wasn't for Ash being based.

Now what could be a really convincing way to write her out without shoving at everyone's face it's just because muh status quo? If they had a fight. Something huge enough to undo all Serena had cherished with him and instead convert it to some mad wish to get the hell out of there, and that's where Yashio's card would enter.

So there's been a bunch of hype with the new preview and all, but the ending of XY is looking a bit grim to me. Serena seems to want to train under Yashio in the future, and it seems less and less likely that she'll move on to the next region with Ash. Speaking of him, the upcoming fight with Diantha indicates that there probably won't be a league win with an Elite Four arc.

I'm wondering, how many of you fellow anons will actually keep watching next season if we return to status quo? I hadn't watched Pokemon for almost 11 years until I read that there was backstory to Serena with Ash one day. Being more excited than I care to admit over a show for children, I'd be pretty disappointed if XY just ends up being more of what I saw as a kid. I'm definitely hoping that Sun/Moon will be similar to a Johto for Kalos and that we'll actually get a satisfying resolution. If XY ends sloppily though, I probably will just call it quits and assume Ash's adventure will never end.

I don't understand why people hate Tripokalons when the performances give us the best sakuga of the anime as a whole. Sure, the TR vs TF was great, especially with Zygarde rampaging around, but I won't say no to some beautiful animation because the theme isn't nekketsu enough.

In a void, I'm fine with the results of today's episodes, but knowing that Serena will never be shown actually becoming Kalos Queen makes it really annoying. Contrast with today's episode of Aikatsu, which showed flashbacks to Akari's earlier losses and development in the past two years and had her become Starlight Queen. What's stopping the Pokémon writers from letting at least the regional companions from achieving their dreams?
