Maybe it's just from growing up in Illinois, where you either like wide-open fields of nothing or you go batshit insane, but I just love seeing mountains tinted blue from distance and watching the ground curve away to the horizon. The idea of befriending a Pokemon and setting out on a journey to cross the world is the truest of comfy to me.

I'm actually from up in the northeastern part, in a suburb of Chicago, actually. But my family loved taking overly long road trips, and I just grew to love staring out the window. In Michigan there's no fields of nothing. All the countryside is occupied by roads, farms, or forests. Some like it, I guess, but I cant find it appealing as large uninterrupted fields or small towns.
