Will Gengar ever not be relevant?

Maybe if they introduce a levitating ghost/poison mon with a better moveset.

Gengar stats are insane for his kit
Besides him no other fast ghost pokemon exist
Closest you get is mismagius and he's still slower and weaker

Why would it be not relevant? Gengar is the most fun pokemon. Find one pokemon that would be more fun to spent time with. You cannot. Gengar is the best bro you could hope for. You'll never forget your times with him.

I want to like Gengar, but his design just won't let me. He's too stubby. Haunter is cooler in every way.

Is Gengar the actual best Pokémon? Like, I'm not saying he has to be your favorite, but does anyone actually dislike him? The only complaint I've seen against Gengar is some people prefer Haunter. Is there any other Pokémon as universally fantastic?

I can't fucking stand Gengar's design. Haunter looks amazing and way better in every way. The only Gengar sprite that was alright was the Gen I one but even then it wasn't all that good. In my opinion anyway.

I don't hate Gengar's design, but I always did enjoy Haunter's design more. Even with friends to trade and get Gengar with, I usually liked sticking with Haunter more just for aesthetic purposes.

This. I'll repost this shitty image I made, but I honestly can't stand Gengar since gen 3 when it started looking like my mom's ugly blob with a grin slapped on it, and it lost all of its spooky potential. At least the mega is cool.

Even Gen 1 Pokemon mostly look either goofy or awful nowadays. The sprites has already lost their vibrant poses and colors, and the transition to 3D models was not a smooth one. They're all so fat...
