Dusknoir and Dusclops are both shit in battle, but as of Gen 6 Dusknoir is actually better again, due to Knock Off being so common. In Pu, Dusknoir is rated B+, whereas Dusclops received a viability rating of only C.

Mamoswine (one of the flagship examples of an evo that ties super close to its prevo without being "it just gets bigger")
Froslass (really clever split evo with unique differences between it and glalie. Now if only they were both more viable)

Lickilicky (Design feels half-assed, did very little to improve viability)
Rhyperior (design shits all over one of the best pokemon of all time)
Dusknoir (design is cool, major stats fail)

A lot of them are fine by me just because it means their prevos can use Eviolite, like Rhydon and Dusclops, and a few of them allow their prevos, who were nothing special before, to shine in Little Cup.
The only ones I'm not a big fan of design-wise are Rhyperior, Ambipom and Dusknoir (And even then that's only because it's so different from Dusclops and by extension Duskull). The rest are all either inoffensive or cool as fuck.

The best are mismagius and Dusknoir. Both great designs and big improvements over their previous forms.
I'd put porygon z, tangrowth, and weavile in the next tier down. All are nearly as good as their previous forms or a little better. Pretty solid designs.
Beyond those five, I could parse out which are decent and which are shit, but it's really not worth it. None of them improve on their predecessors and none of them should exist.
God some of them are awful looking. Honorable mention to rhyperior which took a truly excellent looking pokemon and made it visual garbage.

Probopass is cool. Its design makes sense and although some people see it hilarious. It's my favourite cross-evo and one of my absolute favourites.

I don't think that anyone of these evolutions are unnecessary.

Everything but Lickylicky, Rhyperior, Ambipom, Gliscor, Magmortar, and Nosepass is pretty good. And i'm not saying these ones are BAD, but I just don't care for them. Everything else is great.

And let me say this, Lickitung and Magmar aren't great either so it's not just the evos I don't care for. The entire lines are just bad, so I don't get it when people say Lickilicky looks bad when Lickitung was bad as well.
