The highest sticker in the cards area is $19.99

I got the $50 Blazekin box, the $25 lunchbox that has 5 packs, and the $25 Charizard generations box

The Target in my town had the event being run by an official Nintendo Supplier Representative. They had set up a long table with tons of posters and hats and stuff on it for anyone (kids mainly) to take. They had set up the Charizard EX boxes and the Mew and Celebi Mythic Collections up on a separate stand and had people line up to get stuff from the stand. The line was really long and I got there right on time, because by the time it was my turn there were only 2 Charizard boxes left. I grabbed one. I already had got the Mew and Celebi stuff when they first came out so I didn't grab anymore since the line was still long. Got the magikarp promo as well.

With the pokemons you want to run there isn't much more to do aside from fine tuning. If you were to change the pokemon without adding new ones, I would try to get rid of one evolutionary line to make the other two more consistent and reliable.

I played a bit with Gallade, and Gengar synergizes well with it, not only half the time you will be able to ignore the confusion from haunter with evolution/center lady, but gengar can finish off anyone that was damaged by Gallade(don't know about Mega though).

Meowstic and Espeon EX were performing way lower than what I expected, but maybe you should try it yourself first.

Unown is one that I like to use, especially with decks that can tutor basic pokemons, since it basically reads as free draw.

Gengar EX works well with Gengar, but is not very strong on his own on my opinion(not counting Mega, since I never tried it out), and there is ToxicroakEX, that can put a 3 damage poison for a single DCE.

Copag managed to get rights to produce pokemon cards here in brazil a couple years ago, reducing the costs of the cards drastically(an english imported theme deck sells for around R$60~70, while a national one is sold for R$30; english boosters(10 cards each) costs around R$20, while national ones costs around R$6.50~7(5 cards each)).

And since copag was already everywhere, now you can find pokemon cards being sold everywhere(along with other products like Marvel Battle Scenes and Disney stuff).

Copag is making cards with pretty good quality at reasonable prices. What I was praising it for was that if you want Generations packs, the price per card/rare here is cheaper than in USA, mostly because our packs doesn't come with the pokemon pin.

By pin, I meant the bottom with the pokemon shape. The 5 card packs comes with 3 commons, 1 uncommon, and a 50/50 chance of uncommon/rare+.

Considering that you can buy around 3 national packs for the price of a international one, you get 9 commons, 4.5 uncommons and 1.5 rares for the same price as a normal 10 card booster. And this scale is even more tipped to our side if we are talking about Generation boosters, since they aren't sold out of the box with the pin in USA.

Is there a easy way to see how far along is my collection in a given set?

In collection stats it shows Set Nearest to Completion but it doesn't actually say how many cards I'm missing from that set.

I tried setting the filter to a specific collection and showing not owned but it counts foils and non-foils as different cards, so it's fucking useless.

Well, Flareon can only deal 150 after Band off of four fire energies, and even that takes an amount of setup. That's not particularly impressive.

Ignoring your hyperbole, either run tankier Pokemon that can survive a magic number hit, or just take it and win with the prize trade.

Well you'll notice NM isn't the only deck that did well. NM struggles to Trev badly, and if it can't get any breathing room it will shit the bed against most other decks. And there aren't really any hard counters to NM except Greninja, which did do okay, but not amazingly so, because of its own consistency problems. Plus "it's good so ban it" didn't work for Toad when it was 33% of the meta, probably not gonna work here either.

Sorry, i came from playing yugioh where if it was good, they'd just ban stuff. And really I'm just a salty person because my locals has a small turn out (10 people usually) and half or more play NM. And it's gay-er than aids playing against the same deck over and over. Although, Garchomp/Hawluch/Lucario breaks it pretty easilly.

Hi people, excuse me, but I never played Pokémon TCG before, but I do play a lot of other TCGs like MTG, YGO and so on, and I have this quick question that I had for awhile.

How's the balance in this game works? I know those elemental cards are necessary to pay for the attacks and such, but with those cards that allow you to drop your hand and draw 7, what stops people from making a deck full of one form strong pokémon (EX: Rayquaza) and going in?

I know what you mean, but Pokemon is balanced through everything being OP with necessary setup, the question is how fast can you setup your OP card.

About trainers, it is necessary for card draw to be more effective to counterbalance the fact that every pokemon needs multiple energies to work. Imagine if you had to sacrifice lands in Mtg to cast spells, you wouldn't be able to play much if the card draw wasn't efficient.

There are a lot of paper-rock-scissors interaction in pokemon TCG, for example, Pyroar has an ability that stops any basic pokemon to deal direct damage to him (including EX pokemons, since they are also basic), which stops any deck from becoming too dominant.

Also, luck is a factor much more visible in pokemon, where many attacks and status conditions will require you to flip a coin, which can be game deciding. Although this luck is counterbalanced by the fact that starting hand in pokemon is much less important in mtg/ygo, since a good hand in mtg/ygo can net you a win in 1,2 or even 0 turns.

It's a very different beast from MtG or YGO and not really comparable.

The game can allow free draw 7 cards because for what you get in draw power and toolboxing, you make up on having a very limited turn. "Spells" aren't offensive and don't influence the board state that much, and at the end of the day you can still only attach one energy and use a single attack per turn, so going through two dozen cards a turn only gives you more options, not more plays.

Also unlike in MtG and YGO, you don't build your deck around a color or an archtype. You normally pick a single Pokemon or a specific combo, then build a deck around it. There's a core of ~20 staple trainers that fit into every deck, a handful of support Pokemon to choose from, then you fill the rest of the deck with techs.
