The problem with IV calculators is that they are more accurate the more time you spend with a pokemon that is a potential dud.

serebiis hasn't failed me, but it is best to see the stats judge in-game in conjunction with it. iv calcs are pretty useless if you are going for max IVs and have a breeding Ditto as well because the judge will tell you what you want already.

Well, you have to look at it from Nintendo's point of view.
How many 7 year olds know how to connect their 3ds to the house wifi?
How many parents don't know or refuse to connect to wifi thanks to the spooky internet news segment?
How many households lack wifi internet access at the exact moment they buy S&M?

So all of those factors means if parents go buy a locked out S&M and their child opens it Christmas day, how many complaints would they get?

I think it was the same for blocking hacks through PokeBank. They didn't block shit and I think part of that is because if you happened to distribute hacks to everyone, some 7 year old is going to have his pokebro be a shiny 6iv level 100 deoxys-attack with TID 00000. If you block that going through, you're only going to upset kiddos too young to understand.


I don't know though, you could be right. I can't recall a game that didn't play out of the box by nintendo if the console didn't know to force an update. I don't recall a game locked with "system update required to play" check coded into the released edition of a nintendo game. So they will probably, like all other current cart games released, will be capable of playing on every version of the 3ds firmware.

Either way, the hack would just come out on how to bypass that lockout anyway. Probably placing a file on the SD card and then just inject it :^)

Injecting is a method of forcing the 3ds to run code. You "inject" the code by forcing the 3ds to run it through an exploit that was patched about a year ago.

If you have an old, out-of-date 3ds version, you can still use this exploit.

Also there are many iterations of finding this exploit through different means which is why there have been several updates over the past year.


With pokemon, most often this code injected is "replace box 1 with these exact pokemon with every stats and factor chosen on a computer" but the exploit is so great you could technically rewrite almost anything of any game on the 3ds if you coded it correctly.

Noob question, but with all the rave about dittos I want to know.

I have a German (foreign) ditto. The judge says it has "Relatively superior potential overall". Its greatest potential lies in its attack stat. And, well, its speed stat is good, too. Stats like those... they simply can't be beat!

I looked this up and I'm not really following. Is my ditto really good? Or just mediocre? How do people tell the numerical IV amount? Is it good for breeding?

It means that the 2 stats it is talking about are perfect IVs (31). You have to pay attention to the description it uses, in your case Simply can't be beat means that they are perfect 31 IVs.

I don't know them in english but I think "can't be beat" does indeed mean 31, which is the highest value.
It's fine for breeding then, for starters.

Yep, it's a 2 IV Ditto, ideally you want a 5 or 6 IV for breeding as it speeds up breeding time by a whole lot however those are really hard to get if not given to you by an injector.
