Even being around since RBY released, DP just had the perfect soundtrack and aesthetic. Sinnoh at night is wonderfully nostalgic and comfy, just thinking about it makes me want to play them again. If Game Freak remakes them, I hope they do their best to retain that.

GSC's and RSE's music make me most nostalgic. Off the top of my head, Ecruteak City, National Park, Lilycove, and Verdanturf are some of my favorites comfy themes.

Some nifty facts about Gen V music:

-no town/city tracks are used in any 2 different towns

-only gen with music that changes part way through battle

-drums are added to the track when moving on most routes

-instrumentation for most routes changes by season, and some city tracks change as well

-all bridges have a different song

-standing near musicians or talking with them in many towns and cities adds their instrument to the tack

-gen v ost takes inspiration from more genres of music than any other, including jazz, classical, latin, pop, rock, and others

-only gen to have gym themes that vary by gym leader (b2w2)

-gen v was the first pokemon game to add vocals to the tracks (ghetsis theme, elesa gym themes, roxie gym theme, colress theme, village bridge)

There's a lot of reasons to love Gen V music!

I love how it only needs those first four notes to remind you of what it is, of how that song used to be so menacing, and then it whisks you away to a land of comf. HGSS Lavendar Town does a similar thing for me, but I still prefer OG Lavendar.

I find this track very comfy, it's my go-to for GSC nostalgia. Takes me right back to those summer afternoons playing the games outside in grassy fields and parks, slowly turning into evenings with fireflies... god I miss that.
