Ever since gen 4, the everstone doesn't work on Kadabra. If it's holding one when you trade it, it'll still evolve.

Nobody knows. They've never even acknowledged it, even though it's been around for almost 10 years. It seems a bit too convenient that it only affects a 'controversial' pokemon, and the fact it has never been fixed, even between generations means there's probably something going on behind the scenes.

Uri Geller's name written in Japanese according to wikipedia is ユリゲラー

They're very similar. As another anon pointed out, Abra and Alakazam's Japanese names are both also based on famous magicians, both of whom are dead. So it seems like Nintendo/Game Freak's mistake was picking a living magician to base Kadabra off of.
