I always thought Bayleef was overrated. The "leaf necklace" doesn't look great, and it's the ugliest color of the three. Meganium is a cool dinosaur with a flower around its neck, and that's fine by me.

Maybe is because Meganium loses her forehead leaf and the flower alone makes her to look like a dinosaur with a flower on its neck. (Replacing the leaf with an antennae was a bad decision)

I really tried using Chikorita line, I really did it's probably my most under leveled starter, as I liked everyone else on my teams and they were usable.... Terrible stats and Movepool, wants to be a wall, but doesn't have sleep powder or leech seed or good stab moves outside of razor leaf in gen 2

I'm not who you're arguing with, but the shift from Dewott to Samurott is pretty extreme. It abandons its thin bipedal dual wielding warrior appearance and becomes a slow looking, heavy quadripedal animal that could probably be Torterra's lost cousin.
