Even in Japan Yokai Watch is already declining. Yokai Watch is simply not interesting. The combat is a clusterfuck, the monsters look stupid and there's so many shitty palette swap tier designs that if YW fans were as autismal about them as Pokefags were about le gearmon or ice cream cones that game would never have gotten off the ground. There are too many faggoty minigames.

Talk to some actual kids every now and then and not even children play Yokai Watch, they just think it's gay. I don't even care if it's a bait thread. It just needs to be said.

No, it's pretty certain Nintendo believes in handhelds and that means the mainline will stay there until handhelds eventually lose the battle. The series will be continued by whatever spinoff will be actual on smart devices, and by then, the mainline will be too boring looking to the average kid aka the main demographic anyway. I don't see it happening for at least two console generations.
