I honestly haven't put any thought into planning teams in advance since the 4th gen days. I've gotten into the habit of constantly swapping out team members for new additions whenever something catches my eye, and the games are always easy enough that there are no hiccups with this playstyle and it's just too much fun.

The last time I played genwun (Yellow) my final team ended up being Poliwrath, Dodrio, Victreebel, Lapras, Dugtrio and Kadabra.
