It's difficulty curve is just bizarre. Changing gym leaders Pokémon to reflect what they have in the animé made some leaders much easier than they should be and others much harder.
Replacing various Rocket battles with Jessie, James and Meowth also made certain dungeons piss easy

But I love that game. Nigga cheers when you catch a Pokemon.

And it basically forces me to have one weak Pokemon on my team, which is nice for Pokemon's lack of difficulty in general.

It's more fun than Red/Blue if you like Pikachu at all.
