Omega Ruby, at launch. Almost redeemed this gen for me.

ORAS until the Delta Episode, then I got bored immediately, of course.

I played White and White 2 this summer, I enjoyed the former and really enjoyed the latter. Before those, I played X and Omega Ruby on their respective launched and loved the former and enjoyed the latter. Last time I genuinely didn't enjoy a Pokémon game was with Pearl back in 2007, which made me stop buying new games until X (and the reason why I only played gen 5 this summer).

Black 2. I'm enjoying casually breaking Gen 1 as I please and TCG2 is alright - Charmeleon kind of shits on the AI though.

I guess I did enjoy parts of XY (Fashion Souls, music chain fishing, etc) but I kept asking myself the whole time "Is this it? It has to get better at some point doesn't it?"

I started from GenV and I'm working my way back through each main series game getting a living dex, ending with FRLG. Already did White. Had a fucking blast. Then played HGSS, fucking hated it. So slow. No issues with GSC were fixed. Literally no Johto Pokemon whatsoever until the end of the game. Slow as all fuck. Terrible. I don't know why it's so well regarded. Currently playing Platinum and am really enjoying it.

Gen 4

I was able to avoid ORAS spoilers/leaks until I played the game myself, so the Eon Flute/Soaring feature completely blew me away.

Wally's theme and the Delta Episode were cool as well I suppose. Obviously there was the bad taste left due to the lack of Battle Frontier but I won't act like I disliked everything prior to that. Maybe it they changed the leaders teams to be the ones featured in Emerald it'd be better, since stuff like Tate and Liza was too easy.
