I like Chatot. It has a cool design and concept, although its inevitable lack of an evo is a much wasted potential. Its gimmick was at least interesting, it played a very important role in time/darkness/sky, and it's actually a monster in smogon randoms

Agreed, this thing is not forgettable enough to be remembered in forgettable pokemon threads, yet still is not memorable enough and is easily overlooked, which in turn makes it forgettable.
Things like Lumineon and Huntail are remembered for being extremely forgettable.

I remember doing that "list all 151 kanto pokemon" memory test, and the only mons i forgot were Lickitung and Jigglypuff/Wigglytuff

Octillery. Too memorable to be forgettable. Never addressed by name, only spoken of indirectly in arguments about evolution. "So how does a fish evolve into an Octopus, then?"
