And while we're on that, I find give or take, 80% of the Gen 5 Dex to be fine. Yeah it had a lot of wierd looking Pokemon but the good outweighed the bad if we're gonna be honest.

Koga is easier and gives you access to Surf
Sabrina next because she's a tough cookie and doing Saffron sets up possibly the greatest forshadowing the series has to offer

After going to Saffron you find Team Rocket. Beating Giovanni awards you the Master Ball, a ball so unique that it should only be used for one thing. With only so many gyms left to do, you wonder what you should use the ball for. Maybe Articuno because you find it on your way from Fuchsia to Cinnabar, but when reaching Cinnabar you're forced to go into the Pokemon Mansion to get Blaine's key. Upon searching the Pokemon Mansion is where you learn of Mewtwo, and doing so gives you the perfect idea of what the Master Ball should be used for

I was mostly talking about when your a child first learning Pokemon, no sane human being goes from Fuchsia to Cinnabar when Pallet to Cinnabar is a quicker option

Maybe something simple like the legendaries getting an event

They can't have remakes this year with Sun and Moon being around the horizon. Maybe they'll make tons of references to Sinnoh like how Sinnoh itself made tons of references to Johto

It's catering to people like you to soften and make Pokemon so inoffensive because it's for children despite the fact they can handle even worse things that ruins what little integrity the franchise can sustain

Not everything has to be squeaky clean or gritty and dark, you can strike a nice balance to be entertaining for all ages

Because competitive autists flail the first chance they get when story hinders the gameplay

That said, the mechanics themselves are fine the way they are. Trying to get creative might devalue Megas into being a little unusable. They're supposed to be served for Ace Pokemon on your team, the biggest bros of bros that you can rely on through thick and thin and your personal trump card

But the way the game is programmed, and the way the community see it is that it's just another Pokemon to use but with an engine built-in clause

At the very least the transformation should take a whole turn itself.
