Are defensive Megas fundamentally fucked? Think about it: as of right now GF doesn't allow the HP stat to change upon Mega Evolution. HP, Defense, and Sp Defense are all important to make a good defensive Pokémon. Whereas offense revolves around Attack, Sp Attack, and Speed, defense gets cucked out of HP.
So because of this GF has to hall major ass to make a viable defensive Pokémon mostly through abilities and such.
Just seems dumb. I can see a reason why adjusting HP isn't an option.

I just woke up, still feeling dazed, from a curious dream.
I just saw a gameboy shaped view and the printer error music was playing, then a Level 1001 Smeargle appeared. Text on the bottom says that ROCKET is battling as well and takes it down to low health and with the whole 'that'd be some exp' in mind, I finished the job, despite no other Pokemon being in sight. Smeargle faints and the music continue. Then I see this lone GB screen in the void display something new; a mission - think Warioware but with Pokemon red, and I had to do things such as navigate a glitched town with dozens of moving NPCs or pick up OAK's parcel or something.
Still feeling groggy frin it, but it was certainly intruiging enough to get me to write about it.
Have any of you had anything remotely similar?

The gen V games are the best imo, but they're way too alienating and different for new fans and people who haven't played Pokemon in a while imo.
HeartGold/Soulsilver is definately most ideal for people who enjoyed both the old games, and for people who want something new. Plus it has loads of shit to do and content to enjoy so it'll get you back into the series 100%. So yeah, HG/SS. Idk how much they go for these days, but it's definitely worth the money.

Pretty sure you mean 1998.
But anyway, as >>25841645 said, HG/SS is a generally good starting point to hop into. The Gen V games are also good to hop onto after that.
