Fanart, fancomics, and fangames.
I'd like fanmixes more if I ever turned the sound on in-game.

I don't know people still make pokemon AMVs.

I write and read fanfics
I illustrate and download fanart
I make fanmixes and listen to them
I play fangames, romhacks and simulators
I've only read one doujin though but I've read a few fancomics but never bothered to read long series.

How does it make more sense?

I played it for the first time recently after taking a few year break from pokemon as well.
Don't expect a masterpiece, but it's not an absolutely bad pokemon game either. It damn sure succeeded in getting me back into pokemon.
The most disappointing thing about it to me is the lack of things to do post-game. Now and then I get the urge to go play it again, but after 10 mins I realize there's nothing to do and get bored with it.

Neat. I personally think it's a good remake even if it misses some key stuff that should've been there.

Also, If you want to have a challenge, try avoiding the Exp. Share. The game can (arguably) be more challenging that XY. Heck, even the Champion took me more effort that Diantha, and that was without the Exp. Share too.
