they actually look different from the original cards.. it's not that nostalgia inducing when you see scans of the entire set. looks too different to be so nostalgic you want to spend money on it. people who were fans from day 1 and still following along might like it but it's not gonna pull back anyone who lost interest between 1998 and today

It probably depends on the fire pokemon. Slugma could spend it entire life in a magma flow which would kill a Chimchar.
Likewise, water pokemon such as squirtle and froakie would probably need to surface for air while actual fish pokemon such as basculin and seadra wouldn't.

Typhlosion learns Flamethrower at level 42 in HG/SS. Heracross gets Megahorn at 55, but gets Close Combat at 37. That said, I kinda feel like Cyndaquil is a bit worse in HG/SS because there aren't any Fire Punch/Thunder Punch TMs.
