Are Diamond & Pearl remakes going to happen? If they are, do you think they will have Sinnoh forms? ORAS had some megas, and that was gen 6's gimmick. Regional variants are gen 7's, so I don't see why not. They would have to be Sinnoh forms of gen 5 mons though, as gen 6 came out too recently and gen 5 mons weren't in the original gen 4 games.

HGSS was good because it was a crystal remake. I hope DP remakes are based off Platinum as well. Although we won't have multiple regions. That might be a switch thing.

What missed opportunitues have you noticed in the main games?
It would've been cool if in BW Team Plasma initially used normal route Pokemon, but gradually used more "grunt" Pokemon as the plot thickened

Wouldn't it be really hard to do a Sinnoh remake at this point in time? ORAS changed RS pretty significantly and people weren't huge fans of that. Now with gen 7, they've got more in-depth story/cutscenes and a completely different gridless overworld style, which means many overworld puzzles (for example sliding ice puzzles and strength puzzles) from older regions are now completely irrelevant. The way Pokemon games are structured now is completely different too, and they've even removed HM's.
Considering how ORAS played out, and how much more changes we've seen in Gen 7, I think it's time to accept that the concept of a "remake" isn't as relevant as it used to be, and any "remakes" coming from GF in the future will be significantly more detached from its source material, just as ORAS was further away from it's source material than HGSS was, and HGSS was likewise with FRLG.

I don't mean this as like a generational hate thing, I mean just in a personal attempt to try and catch up.
Around Heart Gold and Soul Silver I just felt like more and more of the experience of the game was getting away from me, and I severely wanted to catch up and try past generations now. Only, I'm hearing features got lost in later gens, so much of it relies on constant and easily accessed wireless connections which in a city like Houston is asking for pain since everyone's AT&T and so incompatible with their WEP stuff.
As much as I see all these things I'd like from the games, I feel like I missed so much that I don't know how to get back in. Part of me wants to restart the generations so I can reappreciate what I used to have and get back into the games as a yearly upgrade (albiet sped up for like a Generation a year so as to catch up), or just try and jump in from Gen 7 and work through all the disconnect.
I don't know if this made sense or it was just rambling, but I don't know how to express this disconnect I feel with Pokemon. It was a big part of me for four generations, but that technological divide split me apart and I want to reconnect, but I feel like I missed WAY too much and I don't know where to restart.
tl;dr how do I into pokemon again after losing the feel about six years ago?

Well, I tried that, I stopped at Gen 5, and all I was seeing was Dream World/WiFi/etc. gone, and now I'm looking at a game that is going to have a big part removed. And that was the exact same problem that made it hard to get into the games last time, only now it's universal instead of just 'you need different internet, when you have your own house you can do this right'.
The intermediary's missing a huge chunk, and it's hanging over my head making me wonder how much of this game has been lost from this. Because playing Black felt limiting, like it was missing something and I can't figure out what it was. All I can imagine it is, is that lack of wifi stuff.
