Clear numbers for IV/EV in game. Have some character talk about their meaning in game. Make Hyper Training work for any level but only after you finish the game.

Upgrade the trainer school. We had this institution in nearly every iteration of the series, but it was always just about the basics. Why not make it an extensive experience?
Different classes explaining every single detail of competitive battling, with "exams" and practice battles to test your knowledge and to unlock new features, such as super/hyper training, battle items and access to better breeding loops.
Classes could be about specific battle strategies and breeding. Of course GF has to finally come up with official terms for things like IVs or Masuda Method etc.
It's not a must and you have to "work your way up" for the more advanced stuff so it's wouldn't be overwhelming. This would be a natural and immersive way to integrate the competitive aspect into the game's narrative.
