>Gets access to body slam really early on the game, powerful 80 base power move. Also gets access to Miracle Seed extremely early on, before the other two starters at least.
>Laughs at Whitney's Milktank by just using poison powder & spamming razor leaf with it's natural bulk.
>Can't do much to Morty or Jasmine, but they can't do much to it either. It's essentially a great switch in for heals. However it can KO Steelix due it being neutral to grass.
>Contrary to popular Bayleef, it sweeps Pryce in record time due to all his Pokemon being weak to grass.
>Three shots Claire's Kingdra, or two shots it in the remake with petal dance. All while tanking all of it's attacks.
>The ultimate Paladin when up against Lance. Can tank all attacks bar Blizzard & Charizard. Most notably Dragonite's outrage. Even at it's late 40s it can survive two outrages. Perfect switch in when you need to heal.
>Even competitively back then it was mid-tier.

It's pretty bad now, considered the worst starter competitively. But in game? Fuck no, people are too quick to judge it all because of Falkner. First two gyms =/= Entire game.

Pokemon red is a bad, bad game, and here's why.
1) Pokemon spawn rates in tall grass (and especially in caves) is too high, meaning you spend hours walking between towns
2a) Shit visuals, straight out of Zelda 1
2b) Party sprites repeat, because they were too lazy to program proper graphics for each individual pokemon on the party screen.
3) Tracks sound similar because of recycled instrumentation
This is such a shitboring game, it's hard to believe anything came of it. Then again, I guess no one else at the time did monster catching, so people were taken by it.

>Signature Pokemon are Tauros (for male farmers), Miltank (for female farmers), and Stoutland
