I remember a couples years when some hurricane hit the coast, people around me started hoarding supplies. Went to the grocery store to buy hotdog and buns and noticed ALL the bread was gone, also notice all the bottle water was gone too.
the problem with all this was
I live fairly inland in Texas, none of that shit got anywhere close to us.

Louisiana here, kinda lucky to not have been hit by a hurricane these past couple of years, but most of the time it's pretty much like you said. Schools get cancelled and everyone shuts themselves inside but if you aren't dumb and take the necessary precautions, the worst that'll happen is you'll have to get rid of branches in your yard. Unless this ends up like Katrina, in which case, you're fucked nigga.
