this board would have more incentive if the non-vips couldn't use it and there was some mystique to its content. no ones going to buy a pass if they can actually see the garbage that's being posted here.

This board shouldn't even exist to begin with.
>no ones going to buy a pass
Captcha and supporting the site was enough reason for most of us, Hiro should put things back to how they were.

the entire point is that not enough people were buying it, and they needed to open new revenue streams, and that includes adding incentive to buying a pass.
You have a point OP

The site makes enough money to exist without changes. This might generate more revenue, but it's not necessary and only takes away from what makes 4chan worth visiting in the first place. Gold accounts were a joke for a reason.

Okay, but you're factually wrong and the owner of the site says so

When moot was looking to buy a car not long after passes were implemented, he shared some of the traffic and revenue numbers. The end profit isn't a lot, but it's sufficient to keep things running while earning a living.

>Passes have been around for 4 years. Those stats aren't relevant.
Hosting is cheaper now than it was 4 years ago. More passes have been sold since then, on top of those which are renewed yearly.

What about those who cancelled, stopped browsing, or didn't renew? You're just speculating, after being flat out told by the only person with access to the information, that you are wrong.
Agreed. If normies can see what we're posting then there's no point. Buy the pass or kiss ass.
