Let's have a thread about all the cool shit you just had to have and begged your parents to get when you were a kid, Post images, share stories, etc.
For me, it was LA Lights and all the knockoffs. Every kid at school wanted to have cool looking sneakers with lights in the heels that lit up everywhere you walked. If you got one of the cheaper no-name brands, they fizzled out after a couple of weeks or after stepping in a puddle or walking in the rain.
Did anyone here have those sneakers with wheels in the heel? I didn't, but some kids I knew in grade school did and they looked pretty cool.

I would just beg my step dad not to rape me.
It never worked though..
today's treasure is tomorrow's trash

Nobody allowed them where I grew up. They were banned in schools, libraries, and many malls and convenience stores. Something about the wheels could damage the floor much like skateboards and whatnot.
What was banned at your school?
>school has those mail-order catalogs they give everyone
>want to get Simpsons hit and run, end up getting the MisEdventures instead
>MisEdventures doesn't run on my computer
>end up picking up Simpsons Hit and Run on sale when Circuit City goes out of business
>it doesn't run on my computer
There's a lesson here somewhere.

I hadn't seen a single one in real life up until today when I saw a kiosk selling them at the mall. What's the big deal about them?

They're cheap, they're fun. All there is to it.
