I've been on the site for a long time, though everyone claims that, I am just new to the board. It seems rather unused largely which is a crying shame.

I have not seen that and it is in my area. I will check that out, thank you. Makoto Shinkai has wonderful art direction and writing talent so I imagine it will be great.

I am a board drifter who loves lots of different things, far too much to list. /a/ was my home for many years. I love Taiyo Matsumoto's many series in manga and anime, YKK, Punpun, Aria, LOGH, and Kino No Tabi.

I meant no offense. It's always good when /vip/ gets new people because we're such a slow board. Definitely check it out. Kimi no Na Wa is really good and will tug your heartstrings. I saw it online subbed and went to the theater to get the experience of seeing it in theater. Eclectic tastes are good. A good thing about /vip/ is the ability to talk about any of the boards' topics all at the same time without being punished for it. I love Iyashikei type anime too. Aria is a favorite of mine as well as, though a bit darker, Mushishi. When I get a little better at kanji and grammar in Japanese I've made it a goal to pick up the Kino no Tabi light novels to read in Japanese. They're not supposed to be too hard to read.

Being a light novel they are not hard to read, true. Fantastically someone picked back up the translation, to my surprise, so almost all are translated and available now. Many were lamenting the lack of translations long ago. That would be a fantastic way to show your progress though, best of luck. I have all of them from Amazon Japan.

A part of the reason for me to learn Japanese is to give back to the community for all of the stuff I've gotten to read translated over the years. I'm not big on epeen and I'll probably go by anonymous but it would be nice to finish Soil for people and other manga that hasn't caught a break. I'm getting better a little bit a day.
