going by my friends i would say being rly into antifa and or some other form of militant anarchism/liberalism. in the states anyway.
I don't think there's a single "the counterculture." there's a lot of disjoint scenes that each could rightfully be considered a form of counterculture.

I would have to agree with this. There are a lot of subcultures that in their own way are counterculture. One that I think is a little strange is "Nerd" culture becoming mainstream. A lack of uniformity and a celebration of uniqueness no matter the position of strength becoming mainstream is counter culture to all of history and now is the norm. What happens when counter culture is normal?

There is no counterculture anymore because there is no culture anymore

Real life counterculture is completely avoiding normie culture and sitting behind a computer and meme posting. Today there are 2 kinds of people; those who go outside and us who don't.
The inevitable reformation of the Black Panthers

Ten years ago it was 4chan, but then we became normal and the kids went edgy.

It's like the ending to A Clockwork Orange where Alex and them become old enough to the point where they no longer find the childish games they played amusing. From which the next generation will either either continue in it until they too get bored and revolt from the current norms for something different regardless of whether it's better or worse.
