What's the difference between bravery and recklessness?

Bravery is putting yourself in danger of potential danger to protect something, your country, yourself or other people.

Recklessness is putting yourself and/or others in danger for something trivial like your pride or ""fun""

To be brave is to do something that others should do but are afraid to do. To reckless is to do things that others don't do because they're irresponsible and unnecessary.

A solider running out into the open to save his friend is bravery.

Recklessness is putting an 18 year old solider into that situation.

Bravery is viewed positively and recklessness is viewed negatively. Other than that they're the same. It really just comes down to your individual perception of the event.
