I like this comic
I think I have a problem. If I see a comic I am almost compelled to read it. Most comics are shit though these days. They're all trying to make a statement or just plain aren't funny. This one was all right.
Look at Charlie Brown's face in the first panel. He knows exactly what's going to happen. He knows, by the end of this comic strip, Lucy is going to hurt him. And he's OK with that fact. What good would running away do him? She'll just come back in an hour with another ridiculous scheme.
The "joke" in this Peanuts strip is that Charlie Brown is dead inside.

I think that's the joke of most Peanuts comics involving Charlie Brown. He knows nearly everyone hates him, he knows he's worthless at almost everything, he knows he'll never amount to anything. What would one normally do in that situation? Suicide? No, because he knows he'd likely fuck that up too, so he just presses on with his life, knowing he'll always be a loser and never achieve anything of significance, but it's okay; he's come to accept that and that's just how his life is.
