you are a blight to society only if you let your self esteem drag you to a point in which you do not contribute to society in any way. if you at least have a job and friend(s) you're all set.
that also means that if you dont have a job or friends, you should go out and obtain them.

society is alrighty blighted with the cancer of unwarranted self-esteem - not to mention the belief that self-esteem is the foundation of human flourishing - your subscribing to this ideology is merely a drop in the ocean of vomit being puked out by pop-psychologists
