isn't norcal completely different in terms of political views? wouldn't they prefer trump?

oh and dc voted to request becoming a state called "new columbia". just some interesting news no one seems to be talking about from this election.
there were a bunch of other odd petitions getting passed too but trump overshadowed them. california now requires background checks for /ammo/.

Pretty much, it's all just posturing. Their argument that they are under the thumb of the US is stupid because they control a huge portion of the house. Also as a state they can pass their own legislation to govern themselves as they please so long as it doesn't directly contradict federal laws and mandates.

Hell, sometimes states do pass shit that contradicts federal laws and nobody stops them. Just look at marijuana. The US government is pretty fucking laissez faire when it comes to state's rights.

They're just mad because they can't tell everyone else what to do.
