I actually like the destruction in man of steel, that's a problem I have with cape movies in general, aliens/monsters come from space/another world, invade earth, and there is lots of fighting, and yet at the end of the movie there is no destruction, nothing more than a token death for one of the protags, its like the world was never in danger in the first place.

In man of steel it really felt like you were watching godlike beings fighting, and it was super man first fight with someone of equal power in his life, its only natural he would have a hard time winning against people who are more skilled and experienced than him.

I think in the end people dont want to watch a movie about super man, they want a movie about mary sue man.
