Muslim surnames are just their father's first name, so not /vip/ at all. Probably the same with my Icelandic and some Indiabros.

So approximately 537 people have the same surname as me. I look up the original name before it was changed in the US. I find four people in Russia have it too. Man, either the Scots get around or there's parallel evolution going on.
