But sage is hidden. It's only visible when people put it in the wrong field (so it doesn't work) or putting it in all fields, as the meme instructs.

In the past, noko, to return to the thread after posting. It would return to the board without it.
It's been made default and nonoko returns to homepage.

it showed disaproval, but it was a polite way of doing instead of just spamming cuck, and it didn't hide away a post.

I remember my very first time on 4chan. I answered to picture related and I lost the thread.
It was full of spam, I didn't come back for a while. I used to open threads in 2 tabs to answer in one and keep the thread in a second tab before knowing how to noko.

Idk if keeping newfags and idiots from reading answers to their posts will prevent them from shitposting. I mean, they're idiots, they don't share our logic or common sense.

back in the days of the email field, if you put something other than "noko" in the email field, your name turned into a blue link to your email, or whatever you put in the email field. So, when someone had a blue name, you could hover over it and see what they put. Most of the time it was sage

This is the default on most imageboards, and the default on futallaby, the software 4chan (and most imageboards back in the day) all used.
