Given the unavoidable air of elitism I'd say /vip/ster is the proper moniker.

I'd still stick to /vip/per since:
ちなみに最初期の頃(2005年)は、住人たちは自らのことを「VIPPER」ではなく「VIPER」と呼称していたのだが、
いつのまにやら「P」がひとつ増えてしまっていたようだ。

There's no reason to chose one name. Grolious Nippon has 2 names for itself, outside all the shit we make up. We should learn from their example.

Northern Quebec reporting in.
Thinking of moving somewhere far in the coming years. What's a nice comfy place to move to? Alberta and BC sound like nice places to live.

I agree on vipper.

Sask and Manitoba have a lot of jobs and low cost of living. Saskatoon has a small-town feel even though it's a big city, since it's so spread out. Doesn't have big city problems like smog either.
If it's "comfy" you're after I would aim for rural living, cost of living way lower but also harder to find work.
