Hey guys. If you get good jobs and save well, there could actually be a colony on Mars you could buy a space-ticket to by the time you retire. We could be the first people to ever die on a different planet than we were born.

Right now, we still rely on a single central point of failure. The moment we have the technology to leave earth, we stop being dependent on a single planet. The moment we have the technology to leave the solar system, we stop being dependent on a single star.

If we spread out over a large number of systems, we would be capable of surviving any catastrophic event thinkable. We would continue to thrive and live, feeding off the universe's energy until the moment the heat death itself causes life to cease existing
