I could go on awhile with reasons were not ready for secession but I will leave you with this one.

So far, our culture isn't distinct enough to warrant our own nation state. It's getting there but not yet. Before you have a nation state, you have to have a nation and we don't want to be like the Cascadians who think they are the only people who wear flannel or ride bikes and thus deserve their own country.

It really is. The culture of California is so far removed from the rest of the country and continues going far left. On top of that, far right states desperately wish to control our economy, policies, and our culture. If they could, they'd mandate we remove all cities with "San" in them.

Economy is really what drives a countries formation. California has a large enough economy and mostly gets the short end of the stick in its "union". Such mixtures have spurned several nations births.
