What is /v/'s opinion of speedrunning?
it was cool until the actual speedrunners themselves came out and started showing their faces
If it was any good they'd be getting prize money, not just begging for scraps on stream.
They're alright as long as there's no camfaggotry. I only really like ones that abuse glitches to rape the shit out of the game, though,

Speedrunning is the most degenerate act man has ever come up with.

pretty neat except when it gets too glitch heavy and they aren't playing anything a casual player would recognize.
Single Segment Realtime is the only way.
Why the fuck would you care about speedrunning when TAS exists
If you want human achievement, watch the Olympics. Speedrunning is interesting because of the insane exploits and TAS is way better for that.

About as entertaining as a sideshow.
"Hey look at the nerd do a vidya super quick! Neato!"

I'm bad at video games so watching someone else being actually good at the makes me irrationally mad.

Depends. TAS is cool for all the impractical technical shit, regular speedruns can be fun if the runner knows their shit. That usually means they show off amusing stuff (like most DK64 runs) or they can explain what they're doing, how it works etc like a good let's play would. Some games don't lend themselves to speedruns at all, though.

This. Minimum acceptable is segmented runs. Single segment only after a long, long time until one autist gets it down perfectly. Streams absolutely never; you're probably more autistic than the runner himself if you watch those.

So you dislike the idea of experiencing and interacting with actual people. Hmm...
