I know this will get me stabbed but I liked P3 better :U

P3 was traditional SMT crossed with a dating sim.

P4 was Scooby Doo with extra autism and a one dimensional cast.

4. I couldn't finish 3 because of Tartarus' structure. They're both good though, I just got burnt out on 3. I've finished 4 multiple times.

4. Gameplay is better in every way.

3. They both suck though.

P3 had more mature themes and better pacing.
P4 had a slow ass start, but superior gameplay.

Therefore the obvious answer is P3P.

P3 doesn't get good until the moon bosses are finished aka 40 hours

I liked 3 (played the PSP version) so much more than 4 it's not even funny
I couldn't stand like half of 4's cast. On the other hand, while none of 3's cast were amazing or anything, there also wasn't anyone as insanely annoying as, say...Teddie.
I also liked 3's story more. While neither game's stories were anything special, 3 had me a bit more invested.

P3 was a good game when it came out. It had flaws (repetitive tartarus, very strict calendar, everyone in your team has a trauma) but you could forgive them as it was the first persona to try this rpg / dating sim mixture. Also it had a great atmosphere.

P4 was more modern but while it fixed some of the previous issues (more variety in dungeon), it came with other problems even more obnoxious. Shitty plot, even worse shitty characters, fucking teddy, disgusting UI... And I feel that the ending was particularly hypocrite.
