Well DMC1 was forgettable while DMC3 was GOAT and set a standard in its genre

After seeing what Scalebound was gonna look like and already played DD yeah going for Itsuno

Kamiya is washed as fuck

Itsuno for gameplay and replayability (BBI runs are fucking crazy as well as DMC4 Dante)

Kamiya creates great story and settings, better than Itsuno in most games

But Itsuno's got the gameplay and DMC3 was handled by Itsuno so yeah

These are the kind of games you rent for a few days from Blockbuster, play with a friend, and forget about. Kamiya excels at being incredibly forgettable, even in his misguided style > substance direction.
