I just spent 3 hours progressing from ONE habitat (at the bottom of The Wall) to the next one (the first one in Chimney Canopy), and I have never felt this great.

Also during that time I killed my first few lizards, including a white one, and two orange ones at a time, and I found some bugs that I reported to the devs.
https://forums.tigsource.com/index.php?topic=25183.msg1326455#msg1326455
On top of that, those orange lizards stuck into my habitat during hibernation no less than TWICE. But I still kept trying and it paid off.

So feels pretty great man.

The main ending is Ascension. However according to the review from 2016 there are actually over 12 endings. Can anyone who beat it confirm additional endings?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=49n_0kiCAAg [Embed]

http://www.gamesradar.com/rain-world-wants-you-to-feel-bad-for-killing-its-hungry-enemies/

Combined, there’s certainly a lot to look forward to in Rain World, and Primate warns you’ll want to set aside some time for it. It seems attempting a fast playthrough where you only locate your family takes about ten hours, but there are still twelve main endings and even more sub-endings for players to experience. “Plus all the New Game Plus stuff,” he adds. “It could be indefinite.”
>>
Does anyone have a screen shot of those weird 'Echo' things you find?
>>
>>16995
The big question is whether that stuff is actually still in the game, or if its been cut out for whatever reasons they might have had.
I haven't seen any indication of alternate endings, as usually there are steam achievements for these kind of things.

The fact that the game is niche and has so little coverage means that information is discovered at a slow enough rate for me to find stuff before most players have heard of it, which feels pretty great.

>>16996
You talking about those? There's over 50 in that pic.

If the city is on the mad max desertv then how such huge rainfalsl are possible?
>>
>>16998
Nah, he means those orange things you can find everywhere after eating a sprite. They're necessary for the pilgrimage achievement I think.
And yeah, I agree on that first sentiment. I finished the game 28~ hours of play, and I started again to try and find new stuff. Maybe those alternate endings really are in game.

I mean those weird things that make the song go all slow and you give an achievement for finding them. I think the first one I found was at the top of the chimney canopy and it was called 'Nineteen Spades, Endless Reflections' or something.

I mean for crying out loud we're now at 0.6% of the players that made it to the game's supposed halfway point (the end of Five Pebbles).

>>16999
>>17001
Beginning of The Exterior, right after Five Pebbles, also the city isn't really on a madmax desert, it's more complicated than that. Here's my deductions from Sun's weird messages. (then again it makes no sense that there'd be precipitation this high, since there's a sea of cloud under the city)

They could have decided to save it for future content instead. Originally there were slugcat pups intended to be found via exploration, but was taken out since it didn't fit with the game's narrative. Devs said though that this is temporary and they'll be creating a new narrative for the slugs to fit into.
Hopefully this will happen with co-op as well!

I thought that Chimney Canopy was a sub-region of the Exterior, so is The Wall, at the top of which I took the picture. However, It seems that you can't make it back to the top of The Wall. I gave it a go earlier today, but I'm not sure I could pull it off, I'd need at least 4 spears (drawn in green)
>>

And you can become their cheftain if you give them shiny stones, and hunt with them while wearing a vulture mask. Apparently they've a village somewhere. But don't attack tchem, caryy spears or jump around near them.

Anyone unlocked The Friend and befriended lizards?

What are requirements for the chieftain and the friend?
>>
>>17020
Not yet. For The Friend I'm thinking you have to befriend a bunch/all of the lizards in whatever region you're in.
As for Chieftain, you need to build up trust with the scavvers as much as you can. Give them pearls, weapons, help them out in fights, etc. Do that enough in a single region(?) and you should get it I think.

ok my bad, Chimney Canopy isn't part of The Exterior.

But even if you can make it back to the top of The Wall, you're stuck there, pic related.
>>
Ok so it's become apparent to me that there are a bunch of "one-way" paths in the game, remember that. For instance, it seems that The Wall is connected to The Leg, but you can't make it back from The Wall to The Leg.
>>
>>17018
Actually The Exterior and The Wall are seem to be subregions of Chimney Canopy. From what region did you access the Wall?
>>
>>17019
How do I give them the shiny stone? Just throw it at them? Also, how do I use mushrooms and bats against lizards? I've been throwing mushrooms at lizards to no effect
>>
>>16986
HAHAHAHAHHAH

Does this prove that graphics don't make a game?
>>
>>17025
Throwing at them expecting what effect? If you're trying to befriend the lizards you need to feed them larger creatures, like flies or scavvers.
>>
>>17027
I thought the mushrooms might drug the lizards to slow them down/make them neutral. What else would they be good for?
>>
>>17028
Fighting.
I use them whenever I'm fighting lizards or vultures, especially if scavvers get mixed up. Despite everything turning bullet-time, you move with a bit more agility than everything else in the area.
>>
>>17027
>creatures, like flies or scavvers.
How to do it. Do you have to kill them first?
>>
I accidentally attacked the scavengers in the industrial region should I just restart? Also how do I drop pearls for them, am I supposed to throw them or will that anger them further?
>>
what am i even meant to be doing in this game? i just aimlessly run around for awhile before getting killed by rain
>>
>>17027
What if I want to befriend both.
Also how friend works like. Are all lizards friendly to you or only the one that you directly befriended?

>>17030
Yup. One spear will kill flies, not sure about scavvers since every time I've hit them by accident I was immediately killed. Then you just drag the corpse to them and throw it at them.
You'll know it worked when they track you down and start following you (no music will play since they're no longer hostile). Enjoy your new hibernation pal.

>>17031
Crouch at their feet and let them approach you if it comes to that, then throw the pearl at them. That should help mend the wound.

>>17032
Eat and survive. Take it slow and easy at first to figure out how things work, and spend as much time exploring the first area and finding its habitat areas. If you hold down space and look to the bottom left, you'll see a symbol with smaller circles surrounding it. That's the timer for when the rain will start.

>>17033
Then don't kill the scavvers, and find the lizards something else to eat. Anything you can eat, they won't eat. And only the lizard you feed will be friendly with you. Fortunately it doesn't look like you need to feed them more than once.

>>
>>17021

>You'll know it worked when they track you down and start following you (no music will play since they're no longer hostile). Enjoy your new hibernation pal.
Do they need enough food themselves to survive the hibernation and do you get the achievement from befriending just one. If you've to befriend all in the game for a trophy then it is a little too much.

Even if it made three times that amount total through PSN, GOG, etc., that's harsh. There were multiple devs and they worked on it for six years.
