A lot. Thing is, SMT likes to use a lot of kanji, and not only that, a lot of archaic-mythical related kanji as well. You'd have to finish Japanese high-school to be able to play SMT games on native Japanese, I wish I was kidding.

That's difficult to answer seriously. You need to know as much as you need to know.
Haven't played if... yet but it will probably have some obscure words in it like most SMT games, faith, mythology stuff and some archaic words but those should not be a big problem only additional vocab.
It's possible that you'll be able to play it (or even Debisama if they keep masturbating instead of haxxing) before EOPs can although I doubt it if you aren't a NEET, in that case it wouldn't even be that unlikely because you should be able to achieve a lot in a year (which is the delay I'm expecting).
It's pretty sure though that you'll be able to play all the other gems which other lazy faggots here will never be able to enjoy including this one >>98692163.

Hey guys, I just finished Nocturne, my first mainline SMT, before this I've only played P2 and 3. Holy fuck. This game was amazing. I dare say it was better than P2 and P3. And those are 2 of my favorite games of all time.

/smtg/, my friend wants to get into the SMT series, but I don't know which game to recommend to them as a starting point. Keep in mind, they aren't too used to the difficulty of the series, so anything more newbie-friendly would be great.

It's really just luck
There's no sense in wasting a skill slot on charisma. Your best bet is to use demons with convo skills, but those aren't worth fusing on to other demons.

Interestingly, I was reading a faq by someone who played the Japanese original, and here's what they said about negotiation in maniax

they're looking for when asking questions. There was a random factor even in
Nocturne, but in Maniacs it seems like more or less a total crap shoot when
answering these questions. The same demon asking the same question may want
different answers at different times.
